Delivering a Little ‘Winter Cheer’ this Christmas with our Winter Warmth Kits
Keep Warm This Winter!
Following the success of our Winter Warmth Kits last year to help with the cost-of-living crisis, we’ve been delivering a little ‘Winter Cheer’ this Christmas.
Here are SLH colleagues, Rosie and Joanne, out delivering some of this year’s Winter Warmth Kits to residents in our sheltered accommodation around the South Lakes area.
The kit was created in response to the cost-of-living increase and includes a fleece blanket, torch, coffees, teas and mug.
These kits have all been made possible by the kind donations from Westmorland and Furness Council and Out of Eden. Thank you!
If you are looking for a place to keep warm this winter there are welcoming spaces for people to visit if you need it. These spaces are run by a range of different organisations including churches, village halls, local councils and libraries. To find a ‘warm spot’ close to you, please visit: www.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk/warm-spots.
Lyn Richardson, Customer Engagement Partner at SLH (pictured on the left below delivering kits last year with SLH colleagues) commented, “Once again our Winter Warmth Kits have been a real success. It’s been a pleasure to develop this idea into something tangible for our residents, especially as winter sets in and so near to Christmas with energy bills and food prices so high. Our residents have once again been so thankful and it has been a joy to put a smile on faces whilst providing practical items to help.”
