Groundworks: SLH’s new community action partner

Groundwork North East and Cumbria are working on behalf of South Lakes Housing to review and suggest improvements for the outside spaces at Longlands View. The aim is to improve the external environments, target specific problem areas and identify ways to make the outdoor spaces safer, more usable and more attractive for residents. A fundamental part of this process is for Groundwork North East and Cumbria to consult with residents to gain their views about the open space in order to inform the re-design of the site.

Groundwork has a mission to mobilise practical community action on poverty and the environment. 

They aim to:   

• Create Better Places: Help people work together to make places greener, safer and healthier  
• Promote Green Living & Working: Help people and businesses understand and reduce their environmental impact and fight climate change
