Meet the Team: Lyn- Community Engagement Officer

 

I have worked for South Lakes Housing for the last 5 years as the Community Engagement Officer. It is a varied role which takes me across the whole of South Lakeland where our tenants are based.

I have excellent partnership working with South Lakeland District Council, Cumbria County Council, our contractors, Health and Wellbeing Coaches and PCSOS utilising these in each area I work.- Lyn

Depending on the needs of our communities Lyn can be out on estates delivering budget cookery workshops, crafts for families or promoting money-saving initiatives such as Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP).

Lyn also works with tenants to improve their environment and recently helped the tenants of Hart Street/Swan Street clean up their outside area, where the Bell Group kindly donated some planters, so the tenants were able to plant some lovely flowers.

Lyn is also involved in Tenant Involvement which includes:

• Tenants Committee
• Resident Associations
• Scrutiny Panel
• Issuing Maintenance Grants

Lyn represents South Lakes Housing at Resident Involvement Network Group meetings which includes Housing Associations from across the North West. These meetings focus on key themes such as Together with Tenants and how to run effective scrutiny groups.

She is involved in the Ulverston Healthy Town Initiative where representatives from Health, councillors and partner organisations come together to share ideas and action plan for a happier and healthier community in Ulverston.
